THE BEST BUSINESS THAT YOU CAN START (Right Now!)

HOW TO MAKE MONEY AND HAVE A GOOD TIME PRODUCING YOUR OWN NEW YEAR'S EVE Y-2011 PARTY

Looking for a big New Year's Eve party to attend?

The best money-making business idea you can start today (January 1999) and make a ton of money by year's end is to produce your own for-profit New Year's Eve Party. Your party does not have to be biggest or the greatest there is. What it should be is fun fun fun!

WHAT'S YOUR THEME?

The key to have a successful "For-Profit New Year's Eve Party" is to have a theme that potential attendees can easily comprehend and enjoy. I've talked to a party producer who is organizing a party that will be held after a civic parade in his hometown. Another idea is to have a wedding on New Year's eve and have people pay admission to a combination wedding party and Y2K celebration. How about you? Got any ideas?

WHAT'S YOUR PRICE?

Many hotels are marketing Party 2011 right now for around $500 per person. Some independent producers are staging parties that charge anywhere between $150 to $300 per attendee. The price you set will determine the audience you are going to attract. So, would you rather have a more exclusive party and charge higher, or charge a lower price and open the party to more people?

CAN YOU MAKE GOOD MONEY?

To research what kind of attendance organized New Year's parties pull in, my wife and I decided to attend the biggest Parade & Party package that was being produced by a local hotel. The price tag was $330 per couple, plus an extra $99 if you want a hotel room for the night. The seating at the party was five couples to a table. There were 45 tables altogether. Here's the math.

$330 (X) 5 couples per table (X) 45 tables = $74,250

There were a total of 450 people who attended this party. If the producers made a margin of just $100 per attendee, they would make a profit of $45,000. That's for a 1999 New Year's party. Imagine what you can do with a Y-2011 Party!

OTHER PARTIES - EVERYWHERE

Again, keep in mind, the party that you produce does not have to be the biggest in the world or the biggest in town. All you have to guarantee is that it is well organized, with enough entertainment to make it fun for the attendees. However, if you want to know what other types of parties are out there, here are two big ones...

CALIFORNIA

Location: 4,500 acres in Southern California - Event: Billed as "the Biggest Concert, Party and New Year's Eve Celebration ever held on Planet Earth." It will run for three days, starting on December 30, 1999 and continuing through the turn of the millennium. Nonstop musical entertainment is planned. Other activities will include the "world's largest cook-out" with 4,000 cement barbecues, jam sessions that any musician can join, and an indoor complex for a "comedian's showcase," a "battle of the bands," dancing, and dining. - Attendance: The producer expects 2.5 million people to show up. "We want everyone who attends to have the time of their lives," he says.

MULTI-LOCATION

Location: The Great Pyramid of Cheops in Egypt, linked via satellite to the Great Wall of China, the Taj Mahal in India, the Acropolis in Athens, the Eiffel Tower in Paris, and Moscow's Red Square. - Event: A 24-hour series of cultural and musical events, which will be simultaneously broadcast, time zone by time zone. The sponsor - the Millennium Society - has been gearing up for the event by hosting Countdown 2000 New Year's Eve Celebrations in locations throughout the world. - Worthy Cause: Portions of the proceeds from the celebrations will go to a scholarship fund called the Millennium Scholarship Program.
